A simple search of "Kige Ramsey" on www.YouTube.com returns results that are full of prognostication, recaps, updates, shout-outs - and even advice for Nicole Richie. Ramsey, a third-year student from Russellville, has made a name for himself on sports blogs and sports talk radio shows across the country, thanks to his dry, to-the-point opinions on mostly sports-related topics, which he broadcasts on YouTube.
There could be another in-state rivalry brewing at Western. The Toppers (1-5-2) will host the Kentucky Wildcats (1-5-2) at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at the WKU Soccer Complex. The Toppers and the Wildcats have met eight times since 1991. Western's last victory over Kentucky came in a 1-0 victory in 1999.
Here comes the Sun Belt, and coach Jason Neidell said it's all right. "I think the team is going into conference play with a lot of confidence," Neidell said. "I feel good about where we are and about our team." The women's soccer team is carrying their best start ever into Sun Belt Conference play at 5-1-1.
Western's offense will see a change on the depth chart this week in the quarterback position. In place of junior quarterback David Wolke, redshirt freshman K.J. Black will suit up against Bowling Green State on Saturday for his first collegiate start. "It means a lot," Black said of the promotion.
Last year, sophomore Lindsey Gould served while keeping her feet on the floor. Her adjustment this season nearly came by accident, and her new serve has propelled her to 34th in the country with .61 aces per game. Gould now jumps when she serves, and the suggestion to make the change did not come from coach Travis Hudson.
