		<description><![CDATA[Western students are breaking down cardboard boxes and recycling their soda bottles and cans now more than ever.
In 2009, Western’s recycling rate was about 11 percent, which was a 7 percent increase from two years ago.
More than 565,000 pounds of waste were recycled last year, according to an e-mail from WKU Recycling.
