Western students are breaking down cardboard boxes and recycling their soda bottles and cans now more than ever.
In 2009, Western’s recycling rate was about 11 percent, which was a 7 percent increase from two years ago.
More than 565,000 pounds of waste were recycled last year, according to an e-mail from WKU Recycling.

Three letters and five numbers have left some Western students feeling a little confused.
Beginning March 8, the logins for computer labs and online systems, including Webmail and Blackboard, will convert to using the NetID login.

Western’s plans for construction may be stalled.
President Gary Ransdell appeared before legislators earlier this month to testify whether he wanted state funding for new construction on campus or maintenance of current facilities.
