University Senate discusses safety, early closing

University Senate members discussed campus safety and the university closing early at their meeting this afternoon.

Faculty Regent Patricia Minter said she was upset that officials told faculty the university will be closing a week early in December to cut back on energy costs.

SGA creates program to lower textbook prices

Students might get a break when buying textbooks, thanks to a new Textbook Subsidy Program. The Student Government Association passed a bill creating the program at Tuesday’s meeting. The program will raise money to lower the cost of textbooks at the University Bookstore, said Greensburg freshman Ronnie Santana, a senator who co-authored the bill.

SGA passes Seven pieces of legislation

A record seven pieces of legislation passed at today’s Student Government Association Meeting.

The first resolution supports direct deposit for students who work for Housing and Residence Life.

Student workers must collect their check from HRL instead of having it put directly into a bank account, said Elizabethtown senior Kendrick Bryan, author of the resolution.
