This isn’t the latest shoot for a Jay-Z music video, though. It’s Louisville senior LaToya Valentin, and she’s running everyday errands in her tricked out car.

Jessica Jones first experienced the devastation cancer can bring when her grandfather died from a brain tumor. The passing of her grandfather inspired Jones to help find a cure and educate people about cancer. Now Jones is a development representative for the American Cancer Society and helps coordinate Relay For Life, a fundraising event for ACS.

Western’s centennial has been the focus of Homecoming themes for the past few years, said Charley Pride, director of student activities and organizations. This year’s theme, “Movin’ on Up,” is meant to celebrate the university’s future. The theme signifies Western’s transition to the Football Bowl Subdivision (formally Division I-A), as well other advances on campus.
