At the racetrack, Rita Cline is known as “Redneck Woman.”
On any given weekend, Cline, 31, of Bowling Green can be found racing her Chevrolet around the oval track at Beech Bend Raceway.
Cline talks to her car, named “Darlia” before each race. “I say to her, ‘Come on girl, we gotta go do this, we can do this,’” she said.

The smell of popcorn and sweat filled the air as the energetic crowd screamed in anger or cheered support for the men beating on one another in the stage ring. The Vette City Wrestling show on Sunday night at Lampkin Park in Bowling Green provided entertainment for about 60 people.

A trip to New Orleans during fall break offered Hilltoppers for Christ a chance to help residents in more ways than one. Campus minister Steve Tyree said the ministry aspect of the journey was more important than the physical labor. “It probably helps their heart more than financially,” Tyree said.
