Before June 8, 2002, Jan Ulrich knew exactly what to teach her children. “I knew to teach my children about the dangers of drugs and alcohol,” she said. “I knew to teach them to look both ways before crossing the street, but I didn’t think to teach them about suicide and depression.

Alecea Davis arrived at Western as a Bowling Green resident looking to belong to another group. She came to Western with her friends, but joined the Kappa Delta sorority on her own. She said once she stepped into the KD house, she knew she’d found her fit and best friend, Lori, with whom she stays in contact.

It is a place for all ages. Everything is there. Pizza, beer and live music. Bread & Bagel is one place in Bowling Green that has allowed a place for local bands to play their music while everyone of all ages can come listen. The music movement at Bread & Bagel began as a grassroots effort from employees and bands that wanted a place to play.

Chris Brown, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Destiny’s Child, among other artists from the last two decades, made appearances in Van Meter Auditorium Sunday night.
The artists had Chi Omega sorority jiving to Avril Lavigne in bright colors and zebra tank tops while Kappa Sigma fraternity lived in a “Barbie World” and MMMBopped their way across stage.

More specifically, she studies the Creole language, a language with a mixture of French and Spanish words and sounds mostly found in Haiti and New Orleans.

Spring Sing, the annual Greek dance and singing competition took place at 5 p.m. on Sunday in Van Meter Hall. The event was the official kick-off of Greek Week. The theme was “NOW that’s Spring Sing,” and each of the 17 sororities and fraternities performed routines from the NOW CD collections.
