A fire was reported this afternoon in Chandler Park Apartments, located off Cave Mill Road behind Greenwood Mall. The apartments are the home of some Western community members. The fire has been contained. A call to the Bowling Green Fire Department came in at about 4:20 p.m.

The official cause of death for a student found dead in Keen Hall on April 24 is asphyxiation, Warren County Coroner Harold Sanson said Thursday.

Jaron M. Kormelink, a freshman from Clarksville, Tenn., was found dead in his Keen dorm room on Tuesday.

Sanson said he is waiting on a toxicology report from the medical examiner’s office in Louisville before he files his report on Kormelink’s death

The results will be available in 30 to 60 days, he said.
