COMMENTARY: RAs need to get a grip and I need to get some pants

When I came back to my room this morning, I wasn’t wearing pants and the door was locked. I had taken a shower and my roommate locked me out. Simple mistake. Happens all the time. I would ride the (hopefully empty) elevator downstairs, grab a key, and open my door.

After 40 years, march for equality continues

“We shall overco-o-me, we shall overco-o-me, we shall overcome some da-ay-ay,” the marchers sang, forming pockets of warm steam in the cold air. Other marchers had sung this song before – in Montgomery, Ala., Washington, D.C. and Selma, Ala. But unlike Selma, there were no armed state police waiting at the end of this march.

Students broadcast election results

Teressa Rerras said she was intimidated as she walked into the Warren County courthouse Tuesday to interview citizens for broadcast for WKCT-AM. Rerras, a senior from Norfolk, Va., said the courthouse’s atmosphere was charged with electricity and anticipation as candidates and citizens waited for the results of Tuesday’s election.

Students step it up

The Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity prayed and got focused one last time. Their months of effort preparing for the Homecoming step show was nearing its end. All that was left to do was perform. The step show took place at 8 p.
