RICHMOND, Ky. – If anyone thought the Battle of the Bluegrass was dead, Eastern revitalized it Saturday evening.

The Colonels snapped their four-game losing streak in the series by holding off a late Western rally, winning 26-21.

The loss was the Toppers’ sixth straight dating back to last season.

With just four games left in the season, and the Sun Belt Conference East Division already sewn up, it would be easy for Western to let its guard down.

The Toppers clinched the division and a first round bye in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament with a 97-71 win over North Texas last Saturday at Diddle Arena.
