The College Heights Herald is the main source of news for Western Kentucky University students, faculty, staff and alumni. The twice-weekly student newspaper offers saturation coverage in a market that includes more than 18,000 students and about 1,700 full time faculty and staff.
The Herald is published on Tuesdays and Fridays during the school year. Circulation is 10,000.
The Herald, a member of the Associated Collegiate Press Hall of Fame, has won 11 National Pacemaker Awards, five Gold Crown Awards and three Silver Crown Awards. The Herald has been named the best non-daily student newspaper in the country by the Society of Professional Journalists and has won national awards from the College Business and Advertising Managers. The recipient of 10 General Excellence Awards from the Kentucky Press Association, the Herald is consistently a top finisher in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Press Association Newspaper Contest and SPJ Mark of Excellence competition.
