In the ever-changing world of news and journalism, the Herald made changes of its own over the summer.
Meet the new wkuherald.com.
After months of planning and discussion, a new site has become a reality. The site is hosted by CoPress and uses WordPress software.
It’s a fresher, cleaner, more modern look. Things should be easier to find and overall navigation should be much more effortless.
Each story will be tagged with a category according to the section it is in like news, sports, features, etc. And from there if you’re just interested in football stories, then click the “football” tab and they’re all there for you. Even better you can subscribe to an RSS Feed for constant updates and on-the-go coverage for just football coverage from the Herald.
Things will be kept fresh and new too, our goal is to continually update the site with new features and stories from around the campus and community.
We also look to integrate more social media into this year’s coverage. We encourage you to become a fan of the College Heights Herald on facebook or follow us @wkuherald on Twitter.
Furthermore, unlike in year’s past all photo galleries and multimedia pieces will all be on one site. We plan to use chherald.com for a photo and multimedia blog that will include photos and other media that doesn’t make it to the print edition.
It’s an exciting time around the Herald, and by no means is this site completely finished. We are constantly looking for new features to add and we hope to get your feedback as well. What would you like to see? Let us know by sending us an email at editor@chherald.com.
Enjoy the weekend, and enjoy the new wkuherald.com. It was built for you and with you in mind.
For now, welcome back and we look forward to publishing our first print edition on Tuesday.
