Q1:What is your favorite childhood memory?
A: I was the Nutcracker in a fourth-grade play. I got to march around with a sword the whole time.
Q2:What are you buying your mom for Mother’s Day?
A: She loves to plant flowers, so there are two empty pots on her porch that I’ve been keeping my eyes on.
Q3:What is the most important issue facing students?
A: Accessibility to having a voice. We have to change this atmosphere of them not knowing how to speak up when they see something wrong.
Q4:What’s the worst joke about your
last name?
A: Microsoft Word will auto-correct it to Smelly, and I don’t appreciate that. But I’ve set it on every computer I use. And elementary school was hell.
Q5:What do you sleep in?
A: Oh, depends … Well, not Depends! (Laughs) Usually a golf sweater and pajama pants. And lately I’ve been wearing a lot of dress socks. If I have them on all day, I don’t take them off.
Q6:What exactly is Big Red?
A: He’s a giant red blob with an excellent belly. I take it kinda literally.
Q7:What is the Centennial statue?
A: It’s the spirit of Western manifested in a very, um, feminine way.
Q8:If money were no object, what would you buy?
A: A giant, swimming pool-sized tub of Danville High School macaroni and cheese. That stuff was awesome.
Q9:If you could choose a super power, what would it be?
A: Control F. Then, I’d be able to find anything whenever I needed it.
Q10: Who inspires you?
A: Oh, the regulars … Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray.
