In a unique scoring system, the White team (offense) beat the Red team (defense) 68-36 in the annual Red-White Scrimmage to conclude Spring Practice.
“Overall our offense really got going, but we should be concerned on some things on defense,” coach David Elson said. “I didn’t think we tackled very well — a combination of technique and our offense did a good job of breaking tackles and running physical.”
Senior quarterback Brandon Smith only had 59 passing yards, but his 71-yard rushing touchdown was a momentum shifting play in the first half.
“The (offensive) line did their job, the receivers did their job downfield blocking, i had the easy part in just running,” Smith said of his rushing touchdown.
