Students celebrated Sen. Barack Obama’s, D-Ill., election outside of Pearce-Ford Tower Tuesday night. They sang, chanted and danced.

They crowded onto the south end of campus after three dorms’ fire alarms were pulled.

“It’s an Obama alarm,” one woman shouted.

At one point, a fist fight almost broke out. There was yelling and shoving, but the situation was diffused.

Students continued to join the celebration, many of them proclaiming, “The president is black!”
