Western officials have taken action against eight students in connection with a fight that broke out on South Campus and then moved near Pearce-Ford Tower on Oct. 22.
One student was dismissed from Western, two were banned from dorms and student activities and five were banned only from student activities, said Bob Skipper, director of media relations.
Western isn’t releasing the names of the students, he said.
The investigation is still active, he said. There will be more action to come, but Skipper couldn’t provide details on what that action would be.
No further information was immediately available.
It was originally reported that there were armed men on South campus and shots fired near PFT on Oct. 22. Those reports weren’t confirmed. Officials said the incident appeared to be nothing more than a fight that began on Oct. 18 after a Black Men of Western event.
