Don Durham

The Casey County native enjoyed perhaps his best year in 1970. He led the baseball team with a .418 batting average, six triples, eight complete games, 54.7 innings pitched, three victories on the mound, eight games started and 80 strikeouts.

Durham went on to be selected in the seventh round by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1970 amateur draft. He reached the major leagues in 1972. He recorded a 4.34 Earned Run Average in 10 appearances. Durham also played for the Texas Rangers in 1973.

Jack Harbaugh

Despite having an early season 2-3 record in 2002, Jack Harbaugh turned the Western football team around, winning 10 straight games and earned the Toppers a I-AA National Championship in 2002. That same year he won the American Football Coaches Association National Football Coach of the Year.

Harbaugh retired following the 2002 season after coaching on the Hill for 14 seasons. He had nine winning seasons, including seven winning seasons in each of his final seven seasons at Western. When Harbaugh retired he was second in Western history in both seasons coached and games won with 91.
