A majority of students voted against print quota on TopNet

A majority of students who voted don’t want a quota on printing.

The Student Government Association added a printing quota referendum to the homecoming queen ballot on TopNet.

The referendum allowed students to to voice their opinion about a proposed 500-page printing quota which is being considered by the academic technology department.

Out of the students who participated, 795 voted that they would not oppose the quota and 1,843 voted that they would oppose it, which is a 70 percent majority, said SGA President Johnathon Boles.

The results of the poll will be shown to the academic technology department so that student opinion can be taken into account when making a decision, Boles said.

In the past, SGA has had referendums about the plus/minus grading system and the move to football bowl subdivision which were somewhat successful in affecting the outcome in those decisions, Boles said.
