Capitol Arts

416 E. Main St.

In Fountain Square. Look for the marquee. Brings in live music and theater. Main stage performances. General admission. Usually between $10 – $15. Seats 800 people, including balcony. Art gallery open Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Tidball’s

522 Morris Alley

On the outskirts of Fountain Square downtown. Off Chestnut just after 10th. Brings in local and Nashville artists. 21+.Usually a $5 cover. Bar with foosball table, upstairs balcony, couch, pool table and television. Tuesdays – $4 all you can drink beer and liquor until midnight. Thursdays – $5 all you can drink beer.

Bread & Bagel

871 Broadway Ave.

12th Street turns into Broadway Ave. turns into Scottsville Rd. Between Indianola and Kenton.

Brings in bands from across the country and across the pond. Also includes local artists and monthly poetry readings. All ages.Usually $5 cover. Cafe with tables, a couch, a patio and Christmas tree lights. Serves local coffee, gourmet pizza, domestic and imported beer, customized sandwiches. Student discount with Western ID.

Mugshotz

116 Old Morgantown Rd.

Just on the other side of the tracks across from the Registry. Brings in local solo instrumentalists and acoustic bands. All ages. No cover charge. Serves customized drinks, local coffee, tea, pastries. 10 percent off speciality drinks with Western ID. Cafe with tables, couches and a patio.

First Baptist Church

621 E. 12th Ave.

Near Fountain Square on corner of 12th and Chestnut.Brings in the Bowling Green Chamber Orchestra, Western instrumentalists and other formal performances. Worship service at 11 a.m. (also broadcast on WBKO -13). Sanctuary seats 1,400, including balcony.

ConneXion

824 Parkland Way

Between Nashville and Russellville, off of Memphis-Junction Road. “Coffeehouse” once a month brings in local instrumentals, vocals, drama, poetry, comedy, magic – anything family friendly. The next one will be Sept. 13. The church fellowship is connected with the Christian & Missionary Alliance.

Public Theater of Kentucky

545 Morris Alley

Located down the street from Tidball’s, just outside of Fountain Square. It brings live performances on stage. It’s a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the cultural life of Bowling Green.It seats 147 in a very intimate space. A thrust stage extends into audience.
