Ten named to All-Gateway teams
In their final season in the Gateway Conference, 10 Toppers took home postseason honors.
Junior safety Marion Rumph and junior wide receiver Curtis Hamilton were both named to the all-Gateway Football Conference first team Tuesday.
Hamilton topped the league with 52 catches for 841 yards. Rumph led the Toppers with 87 tackles, which ranked 12th in the conference.
Senior offensive lineman Chris Sullivan, junior linebacker Andre Lewis, junior defensive lineman Dusty Bear and freshman linebacker Blake Boyd were named to the conference’s second team.
A trio of seniors – quarterback Justin Haddix, running back Lerron Moore and cornerback Dennis Mitchell – and junior kicker Chris James received honorable mentions.
Rumph, James and Hamilton were also named to the Gateway all-academic teams Monday. Rumph and James made first team while Hamilton took second team honors.
