Golf

Kenny Perry, ‘82, Perry tied for 27th in the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational Aug. 27, finishing 2 over par.

Baseball

Ryan Bicondoa, ‘02 (Daytona Cubs, Class A advanced) Bicondoa has a 2.50 ERA, and is 1-2 with 39 strikeouts.

Corteze Armstrong, ‘06 (Burlington Indians, Rookie) Armstrong is batting .272, and he has nine RBI and 11 stolen bases.

Matt Wilhite, ‘03 (Salt Lake Bees, Triple A) Wilhite has a 3.69 earned run average and is 6-2 with one save and 33 strikeouts.

Grady Hinchman, ‘05 (Brooklyn Cyclones, Class A short-season) Hinchman has a 3.34 ERA, and he is 3-1 with one save and 40 strikeouts.

Tim Grogan, ‘05 (Brooklyn Cyclones) Grogan is batting .239 with one home run and 21 RBI.

Jordan Newton, ‘06 (Oneonta Tigers, Class A short season)
Newton is batting .183 with one home run, three stolen bases and nine RBI.

Football

Romeo Crennel, ‘69 (Browns head coach) The Browns have gone 2-1 in exhibition games this season under Crennel. The team went 6-10 in 2005, Crennel’s first season.

Rod Smart, ‘99 (Oakland Raiders) Smart had 23 rushing yards against Minnesota in Week One of the exhibition season. He had 17 yards in the Hall of Fame game against Philadelphia.

Mel Mitchell, ‘01 (New England Patriots) Mitchell played in 12 games and had 10 special teams tackles for New Orleans last season.

Jeremi Johnson, ‘02 (Cincinnati Bengals) Johnson played in every game for the Bengals last season. He had a career-high three touchdowns in 2005.

Anthony Oakley, ‘03 (Chicago Bears) Oakley played for the Frankfurt Galaxy in NFL Europe before joining the Bears before the 2005 season.
