I found your editorial in the March 10, 2005, issue of the College Heights Herald mortifying. The number of grammatical and spelling errors was appalling. Since there is a word limit for submissions, I will reproduce only parts of the editorial below:
“Shuttle should take road trip to apatments [sp]”
“There are also 9,939 cars with validating [validated] passes hanging from their rear view mirrors, aggressively trying to use them [murky modifier].
Finally, something has been suggested that makes more sense than repainting a parking lot that ads [sp] a couple hundred more spots for the illegal hawkers [wrong word] to fill.
On Monday a forum was held by Jennifer Tougas, director of parking and tranportation [sp and caps] improvements to get feedback from the public to aid in parking solutions. And someone suggested the impossible – public-like [quotes] transportation. [also why is this impossible while "real public transportation" is? logic]
At least shuttle transportation to campus from public sites where many students reside, such as Western Place, the Gables or maybe even the Stonehenge area [frag.].
We think this idea is a lot better than the other suggestion to restrict freshman [sp] from being able to have a car on campus during their initial year. While of course this would cut back on parking [logic], it would also make it difficult for those who have to find jobs off campus [logic].
But how about an even better idea. [punc.] What if Bowling Green could establish real public transportation that would benefit not just students and faculty, but all of Bowling Green, such as elderly people, people who can’t afford cars but must have jobs, teenagers and other people who do not have their driver’s license. [punc.] They [reference?] wouldn’t just get students to class, but could bring them [reference] home safely from the bars on the weekends, too. [logic] omissions
