Has anyone ever wanted to go swimming but had to wait twenty minutes so the lifeguards could clean up after the athletes who had just finished using the facilities?
I have.
After seeing bottles of Gatorade and banana peels lying around the bleachers and general pool area, I didn’t really feel like swimming any more. This horrible realization came over me: the people who used the facilities before me are pigs, and that I was about to swim through their trough. I asked one of the life guards who work there and that person seemed all too willing to complain about how our swim team was unable to use trash receptacles. The lifeguard acted like this wasn’t a one-time deal.
So I decided to do some research. Another lifeguard informed me that she absolutely can’t stand the swimmers and how they treat the facilities with such disgusting abandon. She then urged me to write this letter, because, though she has complained to her superiors before, people still seem to have a blind eye when student athletes are concerned. So the athletics commission can also expect to hear from me, as well.
