heir love of Jesus has always been a part of Donald and Stacy Taylor’s 27 years of marriage.
“When we dated, and when any girl is dating a boy, we want our man to see us perfect,” Stacy said of her husband, Pastor Taylor. “But now it doesn’t matter. You wake up and your hair’s a mess, and you got big floppy slippers on.”
The Taylors stood side by side last Thursday night at the United House of Prayer in Columbia. The sign outside proclaimed a spirit-filled revival from November 15-19 at 7 p.m. Once inside, church-goers got what the sign promised.
Visiting Evangelist Wayne Keith stood on top of pews and pumped his fists, shouting that ‘God is good’ and provoking the members to raise their arms and shout the same. Ladies with babies were so overtaken they put their children down to stretch their arms to the ceiling and shout for the Lord.
A call for healing was made. One by one, seekers came forward and had hands laid upon them. A maze of palms were placed on shoulders and cheeks and foreheads. A lady in a blue dress lost control, passed out and lay on the floor while others around her prayed and were prayed for.
This is what Taylor had hoped for when he asked Keith to bring his congregation and hold a week-long revival together.
While Keith was climbing and shouting and dancing, Donald and Stacy Taylor sat off to the side, together, and hoped to bring more people to Jesus.
